Cookie Policy
Which cookies and similar technologies waftr.com uses, why analytics and marketing cookies wait for your consent, and how to change your choice at any time.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser, which lets the site recognise that browser on the next page or the next visit. Cookies can hold a consent choice, a visitor ID for analytics or a security check.
Similar technologies, such as browser local storage and tracking pixels, follow the same consent rules as cookies. Section 05 covers them.
How consent works
These are the four Consent Mode v2 signals the site sets before any Google tag runs:
ad_storageDenied by defaultAdvertising cookiesanalytics_storageDenied by defaultAnalytics cookiesad_user_dataDenied by defaultData sent to Google for adsad_personalizationDenied by defaultPersonalized advertisingAccepting a category switches its matching signals to granted, and only then do the tags in that category run and set cookies. Rejecting keeps the signals at denied. The consent platform stores your choice for up to 12 months, after which the banner asks again.
Strictly necessary cookies do not need consent, because the site cannot store your choice or defend itself against bots without them. They are never used for analytics or advertising.
Cookies we use
These are the cookies waftr.com can set, grouped by category. Durations are the maximum lifetimes the providers set, and a cookie disappears sooner if you clear it.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Consent choice cookie | Our consent platform | Stores your consent choice, which stops the banner asking on every page | Up to 12 months, then the banner asks again | Necessary |
__cf_bm | Cloudflare | Tells people from bots, which lets the site block automated abuse | 30 minutes | Necessary |
_ga | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes visitors, set only after you accept analytics | Up to 2 years | Analytics |
_ga_<container-id> | Google Analytics 4 | Keeps session state, set only after you accept analytics | Up to 2 years | Analytics |
_gcl_au | Google Ads | Links ad clicks to enquiries for conversion measurement, set only after you accept marketing | 90 days | Marketing |
_gcl_aw | Google Ads | Keeps the click ID when you arrive from a Google Ads ad, set only after you accept marketing | 90 days | Marketing |
| Calendly cookies | Calendly | Run the booking widget, set only when it loads | Names and durations set by Calendly; see Calendly's privacy notice, which covers its cookies | Functional |
| We check this table against the consent platform's cookie scan of the live site. Google explains how it uses data from sites that run its tags on its partner sites page. | ||||
Runs without consent. Stores your choice and protects the site.
Supports a feature you choose to use, here the Calendly booking widget.
Waits for consent. Measures how visitors use waftr.com through GA4.
Waits for consent. Measures which Google Ads clicks lead to enquiries.
Change your choice
Withdrawing consent works from that moment: the consent platform switches the matching Consent Mode v2 signals back to denied, and the affected tags stop running. Cookies already in your browser can stay until they expire, which is why you may also want to delete them in your browser settings.
Managing cookies in your browser
Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge each let you view, block and delete cookies from their privacy settings. Blocking every cookie also blocks the consent choice cookie, and the banner will then ask again on each visit. Google offers a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on that stops GA4 on any site you visit.
Other tracking technologies
The tags in section 03 are the only analytics and advertising tags on waftr.com. The site runs no advertising pixels from other networks and no session recording or heatmap tools.
If a tag on the site uses browser local storage or a similar store, it follows the same consent category as its cookies.
Cloudflare processes the IP address and request details of each visit to deliver pages and block attacks. Apart from the __cf_bm cookie, this sets nothing in your browser, and our Privacy Policy describes the data involved.
