Apps are programs designed to carry out specific tasks for the user. These apps are beneficial for users to complete their work faster and easier. However, we may no longer need an app when it does not function properly, is outdated, or is not being used anymore. Having too many unwanted apps occupies more disc space which may affect the system’s performance. In this post, I’m going to show you how to uninstall the app in Windows 11. I have followed different methods to make your work easier.

How to Uninstall App in Windows 11

Below are the various methods you can use to uninstall apps on your Windows 11 PC. To begin uninstalling the apps on Windows 11 follow the steps from any of the below methods:

  • Uninstalling an App via the Start Menu
  • Uninstalling an App using the Settings
  • Uninstalling an App using the Windows Search
  • Uninstalling an App using the Control Panel 
  • Uninstalling an App using the CMD

1. Uninstalling an App on Windows 11 via the Start Menu

1. Click All apps in the upper-right corner to list all the apps available on your system.

2. Right-click on the app and select Uninstall

If you get a pop-up message ‘This app and its related information will be removed,’ then by clicking on the Uninstall button and you are done with it.

2. Uninstalling an App on Windows 11 using the settings

Click the Start Menu and Select Settings

Select Apps from the left corner

Click on App & features

Select the apps you wish to uninstall, and click on the three vertical dots on the right.

Click on the Uninstall button. If this button is greyed out, you cannot uninstall it via the normal Windows interface.

A pop-up window will appear. By Clicking on the Uninstall button, you are done with it.

3. Uninstalling an App using the Windows search

Click on the start –>Search box in the taskbar, enter the app you want to uninstall, and press the Enter button.

Select the app from the search list and click on the right arrow next to it.    

Click on the Uninstall option. 

A pop-up window will appear. By Clicking on the Uninstall button, you are done with it.

4. Uninstalling an App on Windows 11 using the Control Panel 

Click on the start–> Search box in the taskbar, type Control Panel, and press Enter. 

This will open to the Control Panel page.     

Click on the Uninstall a program under the Program option

A pop-up window will appear. Click on the Uninstall option. 

A list of programs will be displayed. Select that program and click on the Uninstall button at the top of the page. You can also right-click and select Uninstall or double-click on the program.

Sometimes, you may get a window that says, “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?” Click Yes. If you get uninstall window, click Next or Continue and follow the steps in the window to uninstall the app.

5. Uninstalling an App on Windows 11 via the Command Prompt

This method is used when you cannot install an app from the Settings app or Control Panel. 

To begin,

Click the Search button on the taskbar

Type cmd or Command Prompt to open the app, or open Run and Type cmd.

Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator

In the Command Prompt window, type the following command to load the Windows Management Instrumentation Command-line tool (WMIC).

wmic

Type the following command to list all the apps recognized by WMIC

Product get name

The list will display only the apps recognized by WMIC

To uninstall the app, enter the following command

Product where name=” name of program” call uninstall

     Replace “name of the program” with the app name you want to uninstall.

Type and hit enter to confirm. Once the apps are uninstalled, Command Prompt will display the Method execution successful message.
