Must Read

There was a time when simply turning on your TV meant looking through a few channels and finding something that you wanted to watch. Along came a few streaming services, such as Netflix and Hulu, that offered more options for watching your favorite shows and movies. The past two or three years have seen a significant increase in the number of services that are available for streaming, some focusing on options for children while others are designed to focus on shows and movies often seen on one network. HBO Max and Disney+ are only two examples of some of the top services available that offer a variety of programs for adults and children to enjoy and that are quite affordable.

A benefit of streaming services is that most of them have promotions so that you can try them out for a few days to see if you like what's offered before paying for a subscription. There are some services that have started offering trials for an entire month due to more companies joining the ranks. There are a few top streaming services available that you should consider trying that offer almost all genres or that are designed to meet specific desires when watching television.

Netflix
One of the oldest streaming services, you can find everything from horror to tearjerkers. There are numerous original features, and the content tends to change every few months with new shows and movies being added each month to give viewers a variety. It's an affordable option at $9 a month and does offer a subscription for HD and HDR.

Amazon Prime Video
If you have an Amazon Prime account, then you'll be able to enjoy the options that are available. You can also pay $9 a month if you don't want to get an Amazon Prime subscription. This service tends to feature more of the older movies and shows instead of the newer releases and doesn't usually have many originals like some other services. There are titles that you can buy or rent as well if you want to enjoy them for a longer time.

AppleTV+
While there aren't many shows and movies that you would normally see on television, you'll find more originals with this service. Many of the originals do star well-known actors including Jennifer Aniston. It's one of the less expensive services at $5 a month.

Hulu
If you like variety, then you want to give Hulu a try. There are numerous television shows from the classics to shows that you can watch the day after they're shown on television. You'll be able to search through categories, such as children and family movies, sci-fi, and romance. The service offers access to many of the networks including Fox and ABC so that you don't have to miss out on your favorites. Prices range from $7 a month for a basic subscription to $71 a month with live TV.

Disney+
Let your inner child be free by subscribing to this streaming service that offers numerous classics as well as many of the latest movies and shows. There are also a few originals to enjoy. The service features options from Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars along with other brands that are associated with Disney so that you have even more options available for what to watch. The average price is $8 a month.
