In case, your Facebook messages also got deleted, here is how to retrieve them:

Things happen on Facebook only after you have logged in or sign-in into your account. Once you are in there, you should go to and open the ‘General Account Settings’ page.
2. Go to the Settings Option:
Once in your Facebook profile, you need to go to the ‘Settings’ option. You can find this option by clicking on the arrow mark on the top-right corner of the Facebook menu bar. The ‘Setting’ option is placed just above the ‘Log Out’ option.
3. Select the ‘Download a Copy’ Option:
While in the ‘General Account Setting’ page, if you look carefully, you will find an option called ‘Download a Copy of Your Facebook Data’. This option is placed just below the ‘Temperature’ setting box. Click on this option and follow the next step.
4. Click on ‘Start My Archive’ Option:
Once you click on the ‘Download a Copy of Your Facebook Data’ link, you will be redirected to a new page, where you will find another option called ‘Start My Archive’. Clicking on this option, a new pop-up window will appear that will require verification; it will ask you to type your password for security verification.
5. Access to Facebook Data:
Once you enter your password, Facebook will provide you a downloadable link of all your Facebook Data; this link will be directly sent to your verified e-mail ID.
6. Get Back to Your Email’s Inbox:
The downloadable link can be accessed only through your verified Email ID. Once you get notified that the downloadable link has been sent to your mail ID, open your email account and search for the link in your inbox.
7. Download the Data:
Clicking on this link, you will be redirected to a download page, from where you can download all your Facebook data; downloading time can vary depending on your internet speed.
8. Unzip and Extract the Files:
The files will get downloaded in a compressed format; you have to unzip or extract them using WinRar or any other similar applications. Once unzipped or extracted, you can find all your personal data; like images, videos, and messages, within different or individual folders.
9. Open the Messages:
Don’t get confused if you can’t find the message, and rather see some codes in the folders! All the messages will be in HTML format by default, and you need to open them in your browser. Only after you open them in your browser, you will be able to read them or copy them to your desired location.
In case, you don’t want to go through all these procedures, you can search for some recovery tools to retrieve your deleted Facebook messages; they are easily available on the internet. However, while installing these applications or software, you must read their reviews and make sure they are not fake links or any malware that can risk your personal security!
