iOS 15 has come up with new feature that lets you change or customize home screen. Last year, alonside iOS 14 introduced the homescreen widgets. Now that you have widgets, the next thing is to add homescreen customization. I, personally, liked the reorder, delete homescreen feature.

So, the homescreens are pretty much entirely customizable now but Apple doesn’t want you to screw up the aesthetic entirely. As part of this customization, we can now delete homescreen or hide them or even reorder them. this is pretty cool. So you can arrange screen based on what type of apps there is instead of rearranging individual apps one by one which is painful, if I may add.

How to reorder Home screen pages on iPhone?

iOS 15 has come up with the feature to delete the individual home screen pages according to your preference. This article talks about it acting as the guide to help you access the feature. Follow the instructions given below to rearrange the homescreens in your iPhone that supports iOS 15. If you don’t have iOS 15 yet, you can sign up for Public beta which is available for free to every iOS user. Go to beta. apple.com and sign up using your iCloud account and download the beta software. If you are not sure about it, you can wait for the public stable release later this year.

Step 1: Power on your iPhone and reach the homescreen as shown in the picture below. So every single screen that you swipe is an individual ‘homescreen’. Its not to be misunderstood with the generally meaning of homescreen. Every page is an individual homescreen as I said earlier.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is home-screen-473x1024.jpeg

Step 2: In the homescreen, press and hold on any one of the apps from the app grid. It would immediately open a dialog box as shown below. The dialog box would have options like Remove App, Share App, Edit Home Screen, Feed and Start a new plan. Among them click on Edit Home Screen option.

Step 3: As soon as you clicked on Edit Home Screen, your screen would look as the image shown below. Now tap on the rows of dots at the bottom of the page that would generally help you swipe through the other home screen pages.

Step 4: Tapping on those dots would enable the home screen pages to enter into jiggle mode as shown in the picture below.

Step 5: Now you can rearrange the pages by clicking and dragging the pages and then arranging it according to your desire. The image given below demonstrates the process of rearranging by the click and drag method. And finally when you are done, click on the Done button at the top right corner of the display.

Now, that you have reordered the homescreen as per your preference, let’s see how you can delete homescreens or even hide them.

How to Hide or Delete the Home Screen page?

In order to delete any one of the home screen page, you ought to hide it first. The following instructions would guide you to hide and then remove the home screen page. Please be aware that these apps in the homescreen won’t be removed but only the homescreen reference is removed. You can go to the App Library and get it back anytime you want. So, Remove App and Remove from Home Screen are two different things.

Step 1: As discussed above, power on the iPhone to access the home screen. After you have lead the home screen pages in jiggle mode (Craig Federighi told us its called Jiggle mode last year), inorder to hide a home screen, Uncheck the specific home screen page that you would prefer to hide.

Step 2: Now you will be able to delete the hidden home screen page too if you prefer to. To delete the hidden home screen page, click on the Minus (-) symbol at the top left corner of the unchecked home screen page.

Step 3: Clicking on the minus would pop up a dialog box that questions, Remove this page? It would also have options such as Cancel and Remove. Among them click on the Remove option. This deletes the page from the display. However the apps on that deleted page will still continue to be available in the App Library.

So, that’s how you can delete homescreen from your iPhone. I’d recommend you get the latest version of the software in your Phone. As of now, (July 2021) we have a public beta of iOS 15 and we can expect stable public release in September of October 2021.

Please be aware when you delete homescreen, if you do it by mistake its going to be a lot of work to undo it. So, be careful when you do it. Its better to be careful and regret it later.
